Whether your business is large or small, service or product driven, it can almost always benefit from a promotional video of some kind. But what exactly do we mean by a promo video?
Typically a promo video is short in length (around 2 minutes is optimum) and describes the best features of your product or service that you’d like your target audience to know about. As with any project there are a number of processes we follow in order to get the most out of the end product.
Before we jump in head first to creating your video we like to take a step back and think about the best way to approach the production. As mentioned we like to answer a few basic questions: Who is the target audience? What information should be included? How long should the video be? What is the end goal? Once we have this information we can begin building a picture of what the basic structure of the video is likely to look like, including content, style, pace, mood and so on.
Depending on the production we then may choose to create a storyboard for the video, as well as a shooting script or animatic (for animated sections). Additionally we may also decide to script certain sections or the entire video for voiceover or actors. We see this as a collaborative process, whereby we work alongside you to develop a tone for the video that best fits your brand.
Once we’ve established a clear direction for the structure of the video we can then begin the production phase. This may include location/studio filming, producing graphical elements for animation, and voiceover. Each video is different, which means this process varies greatly depending on your requirements. One thing you can be sure of though is our flexibility throughout this process – for example you may need a series of videos in different locations at various times or different days – no matter what your requirements we will do our best to accommodate those.
Post production is essentially the process of editing the assets produced in the production phase and compositing with any audio files, motion graphics and titles to produce the finished video. Again, we like to keep you in the loop as much as possible here, so we will provide you with regular edit updates and carry out any amends that may be required from your feedback. This two-way process helps us create video content that is suited perfectly to your needs.
Once you are completely happy with the finished video we will render your video to a variety of formats depending on how and where you want to use your video. We’ll also keep an archived copy of all the project files in case you want to revisit the project and make any changes in the future.
Once we have finalised the video, we then need to consider how best to promote it to your target audience for maximum exposure and impact. After all it would be a shame to spend so much effort producing a great video if no one is going to see it.
